St. Anthony on the Desert Ministries

At St. Anthony on the Desert we believe in a Christ-centered ministry mindset. That means the first thing that happens is asking God where he wants us and then listening for the answer. Even when a need exists and we are well qualified to meet it, we may not necessarily be called to do it. To be doing what is merely good can be the greatest obstacle to doing something really great.

Genuine ministry involves both giving and receiving. Mutual nurturing is experienced when we are brought to Christ by those we serve.

An important thought to keep in mind is that doing good things may not be ministry if God is not the inspiration behind the activity. This means having the right people in the right places for the right reasons providing meaning and value to the people they serve and to themselves.
